From Disney World to the REAL World

There is nothing that makes me appreciate the authenticity of this town more than a trip to such a dramatically commercial and artificial location such as Disney World...granted we had a great time, spent it with some great people, and gave our kids a thrill, but pulling in to Black Mountain...in full bloom none the less...was a warm and welcomed sight!  We lost a stroller, 2 hats, a pair of sunglasses, and our marbles at Disney...but, I have to say, we gained perspective.  I love that here our houses are real, the streets are comparatively empty, the flowers are sometimes wilted, the waves from folks are genuine, the only princesses are in our imaginations, there are no pirates, no dancing in the streets (unless of course you get the urge), no gimmicks, and no lines.....oh, thank goodness NO LINES!  So...thank you Black Mountain for being real, not always perfect...but real!

Glad you are back in Black Mountain! I have a great idea for an article on here if you are interested....

love it! you summed up our sweet little town perfectly. how fortunate we are to live here and be able to walk down the streets and actually know the people we are waving to and know the shop owners. Small town life is awesome!

Thanks guys! I feel the same way!
