Easter in Black Mountain...from Sun Up to Sun Down!

A day of hope and promise…as we awoke this morning, or “in the middle of the night” as my daughter insisted it was, watching for the sun to rise, listening to the world awake…birds chirping, animals stirring, coffee brewing…it was a sweet and peaceful moment to sit, anticipate the light coming, and thank God for the precious gift of life. My family and I actually went to Cheshire with some folks to celebrate this Easter morning together. It was a nice and peaceful time after a full day of fun, a run, a little sugar, and a lot laughs yesterday. We were able to fit in a birthday party, a little mulch spreading, the Greenway Challenge (my husband ran as I just ran after the kids!), an Easter Egg Hunt, and visiting with friends…a good day! I hope your day was also filled with making memories.
If you missed the Greenway Challenge, hosted by Pisgah Brewing Company, this year you won’t want to miss it next year. They had a 5k and a 10k with well over 300 runners all together and many more spectators. All proceeds went to support the continued development of the Greenway in Black Mountain. Check out the link to find out more about it.

Cheshire hosted a great Easter Egg Hunt open to all.  Afterwards we all stuck around for a great potluck meal on the grass!
