Bill's Top 5 Things To Do in Black Mountain

Posted by Black Mountain Birdie | | Posted on Thursday, December 09, 2010

Well, the Christmas season is well under way here in our small town.  We had a wonderful weekend with the Parade, Holly Jolly (always a favorite...especially the free Gelato from Chocolate Gems), a wonderful charity event, a nice little snow (hence the 2 days off of school), a few Christmas parties here and there...and a few moments to sit by our Christmas tree and enjoy a cup of cocoa.

Admittedly, I am quite behind on my Christmas shopping...and cookie making...and snow globe crafting (something I promised the kids)...but aren't we all.  At least that is what I am telling myself.  So, if you happen to be that one person who is on top of it all...your gifts are wrapped and under the tree, your Christmas cards are in the mail, you've made homemade treats for all the neighbors, and taken time to create lasting memories with your kids...please don't tell me!  Just pretend that you are human like the rest of us.

Let me leave you with our first Top 5

Bill's Top 5 in Black Mountain

1. A glass of wine on the patio of the Artisan....Owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming.

2. Roaming around The Town Hardware and General Store....Like going back in time....They manage to have anything you need and a staff that will go out of their way to help.

3. Having a seafood wrap on the deck of the Oak House while looking out on their garden..Did you known they will also convert that to a yummy salad.

4. Tour of the Black Mt Iron Works.....Now you talk about friendly.....We hope they can do some custom work for our new home.

5. Walking my dog around the Lake Tomahawk loop and chatting with other dog owners.

Bill, thank you for your top 5...love 'em all!
